I can't rely on a windfall from my dozen or so football bets that are still in play. I'd say I might break even on them at best....
Adebayor first player to score 10 PL goals 12/1
Looking unlikely he is on 4 (3 behind the leader Amr Zaki of Wigan. He has to overtake Torres, Defoe and Robinho in the process)
Adebayor to be Arsenal's top PL scorer 11/8
Looking good - he is currently 1 ahead of Van Persie.
Arsenal to win Premier League (5/1 - lay off if they get to 4/1 or smaller)
Unlikely now - they are 7/1 and drifting due to their inconsistency
Bolton to be relegated 100/30
Fourth from bottom with Spurs and Newcastle below them and expetected strugglers Hull having flown the nest. Live bet!
Boro to finish above Newcastle and Sunderland 3/1
Possible. 2 pts behind Sunderland and 3 above Newcastle.
Boro to finish above West Ham 11/10
Coin flip
Boro to finish top half - 5/2
I wouldn't bank on this one.
Drogba to be Chelsea's top scorer 5/4
Not had a chance yet due to injury - Anelka has a 4 goal start on him
Hearts to win SPL (without Rangers and Celtic) 4/1
4/1 is about right still. Very mediocre division and anthing can happen outside of Glasgow.
Newcastle to finish bottom half 5/4
Looking a cert. Currently in the dropzone
Portsmouth to finish above Man City - 5/4
Currently a point above City but the Mancs will no doubt strengthen in January with their Arab millions
Spurs to finish top 6 Evens
Er, I don't think so
Spurs to win Carling Cup 12/1
Possible I suppose……
Walcott to start more than 15 Premier League matches (Evs)
Nailed on barring injury - he has started 6 of the 9 games so far and played in the other 3
Always interesting (and sometimes painful) to look back at your bets.
I've never found football easy and haven't got too heavily involved this season but given the volatility within the game at the moment I think season long bets may be worth swerving in future. You just can't plan for things like the Dubai investment at City, Hull, Harry Redknapp ... or anything to do with Spurs ;-)
