It's too late to be making predictions so this does not count, but Spurs v Arsenal is surely going to produce more than 2 goals. Cant remember many games it didnt.
This week I am not brave enough to go for a Liverpool win at home to United. I will go for a quirky one on tomorrow's Spurs v Stoke game.
I think Aaron Lennon and possibly Kranjcar will see lots of the ball and I really think it is a perfect scenario for a penalty. I also think Robbie Keane will get lots of chances with Crouch nodding them down - although if Spurs opt for a lot of up and under versus Stoke, it will be meat and drink for the Potters.
RECOMMENDATION: PENALTY TO BE AWARDED 13/5 BOYLESPORTS
RECOMMENDATION: ROBBIE KEANE TO SCORE AT ANY TIME IN MATCH 11/8 BOYLESPORTS
I read the man in the Racing Post suggesting that Arsene Wenger would happily take a 1-0 win tonight in Alkmaar. I disagree. Arsene Wenger and Arsenal only know one way, a throwback to the black and white era and every neutral's favourite team. Expect goals and lots of them tonight.
I would suggest betting that both teams to score would not be a crazy thing to do although it's a bit skinny at 0.83/1
RECOMMENDATION: AZ ALKMAAR v ARSENAL OVER 2.5goals Betfair 1.77 (0.77/1)
Liverpool are really struggling and yes they could whack in a few tonight but I don't think so, not against this strong Lyon team who are very good away from home in the Champions League group stages. A low scoring draw looks the most likely result.
RECOMMENDATION: LIVERPOOL v LYON DRAW 13/5 general
RECOMMENDATION: LIVERPOOL v LYON UNDER 2.5 goals Betfair 1.85 (0.85/1)
A cheeky 1pt Accumulator on the exchanges as well working out at 4.17 (3.17/1)
RECOMMENDATION: ACCUMULATOR: Rangers (5/6), Fiorentina (2/5), Inter (4/9) & Barcelona (1/8)
Kind of not getting the Premiership this year again. That 'goal rush' lark is tough enough.
I will go for 3 bets that look fairly solid, one of them SHOULD come up, 2 or 3 hopefully.
Spurs are irresistable at present against teams of less quality, and they are a standout EVEN money to win at Bolton on Saturday afternoon. I also think if Spurs do win there is more than a possibility they can hit 3,4,5 goals.
RECOMMENDATION: SPURS EVENS CORAL
RECOMMENDATION: SPURS(-1) 3/1 BOYLESPORTS
Chelski(6/5) and Liverpool (11/4)is always a close game. In my book I make the draw the most likely result.
Arguably, the Blues have the best top flight home league record in Europe so it is very hard to see them losing. The logical bet is Chelsea ('Draw No Bet' or Handicap) but 3/1 minus a goal and 4/7 DNB do not appeal. Draws are not on the agenda for these boys at present, both winning 5 and losing 1 of their las 6 league games, but the record between these teams is astounding, especially when you include cup and Champions League matches.
If we simply look at the last 2 years there have been 8 games and 3 draws - with Chelsea winning 3. If we look at the couple of years before hand there has been a squeak between these sides.
RECOMMENDATION: CHELSEA V LIVERPOOL DRAW 12/5 SKYBET, BETFAIR
Spurs at home to Burnley - Spurs should win and the forwards will relish a chance the get off the lead and hopefully spank the Clarets. Unfortunately I can't see them keeping a clean sheet - a 3-1 or 4-2 could be the order of the day.
RECOMMENDATION: SPURS V BURNLEY BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (PRICE TO BE CONFIRMED)
Arsenal are at Fulham and this should have lots of goals as well.
RECOMMENDATION: FULHAM V ARSENAL BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (PRICE TO BE CONFIRMED)
Last week in my first foray into this market I made a 0.75pt profit and got close to a decent win.
This week I don't see too much to have a cut at, although the one game I do fancy is Wolves vs Fulham. This game should be void of clean sheets.
The 4/6 offered by 'Goal Rush' is skinny, but then I looked at other firms and found that Bet365 offer 10/11 in a 'both teams to score' market. Job done.
RECOMMENDATION: WOLVES V FULHAM BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE 10/11 BET365
Came off the rails last week but this week I think I might get closer this time around.
Arsenal are really getting the rub of the green this last week with Eduardo's ban for cheating being overturned and then getting 2 really jammy goals (1 of which was an offside handball!!) in Belgium and if history is anything to go by they will get a real boost from this change of luck.
Normally I would fancy the flamouyant Wigan side to threaten a weak Arsenal midfield but I think Arsenal will be galvanised at the back.
Stan James go 2/9 that Wigan won't score a goal - a bit short but I agree - they cannot realistically expect a goal at the Emirates. Sporting Bet and SkyBet take a completely different view and go a comparatively massive '4/6' that only one team will score - so not only is the price great value, you also get a shock Wigan away win 'to nil' thrown in as a sweetener.
RECOMMENDATION: 1 pt ONLY 1 TEAM TO SCORE IN THE ARSENAL V WIGAN MATCH 4/6
Aston Villa are coming back to form at last and an undeserved win at rivals Birmingham should give them the boost to kick on and push for the 4th Champions League spot. I think Portsmouth are proper doomed and although Villa at 4/9 looks a real money maker, I think backing them on the handicap is the way to go. I will have 2 bets on this one. I think Villa could TONK Portsmouth and for that reason I will have 1pt at 5/4 (-1) and 1pt on Asian Handicap at 31/10 (-2.5).
OK I absolutely hate to back my own side as sentiment affects decision making, but Spurs really are playing well and notwithstanding Luka Modric missing with a broken leg I think we have enough to at least hold Man United.
Spurs are a standout 69/50 with Stan James - DRAW NO BET - and this has to be a value bet above all others.
RECOMMENDATION: SPURS 69/10 DRAW NO BET Stan James
That might seem a bit of a good bet but I actually think this is better. Are Sunderland really that much better than Hull? I wouldn't have thought so. Hull are 9/2 to win but you can get 5/2 Draw No Bet with Paddy Power.
