Got the tip for this horse earlier today. All the 14s has gone and he is now a best priced 8/1 with Blue Square and William Hill.

This horse has lots of gears, but the few times I have seen him it appears he may be a little reluctant to hit the front.  Saying that, he looks a banker to finish in the frame so I advise a place bet freely available at 2/1(general) to make the first four places.

We have the technology!

Was out walking dogs up the Devils Bit tonight, and I got a call to back a horse Mountain Heather in the 8.00 at Tramore.  Now I was too far from home to get back to the laptop so couldn't get the tip up on here in time, but I was able to get my bet on through my mobile.

However the reception up there was very ropey and it was a job getting the bet done.  I managed to flash off a couple of text messages (you know who you are and sorry to anyone I didn't get to) before I lost the signal completely.  Frustrating to say the least!

Anyway I got home just in time for the off to watch the horse win very well at odds of 14/1.

Gutted in a way as although I am a richer man tonight, my manaboutdogblog could have done with the 16.8pts profit an each way tip would have brought!

I have laid Exotic Dancer off

He will probably go on and win it now,  but I have decided to lay my 33/1 ticket on Exotic Dancer at 13/1.  That gives me a trading profit of 2.54 times my original stake.

Have to be happy with that, but as a traditionalist (in betting terms) I still find it hard to 'green-up'.

Exotic Dancer contracting in price for the Gold Cup

With the drift on Gold Cup winner Denman, Exotic Dancer is into a best priced 12/1 and is 9/1 in places.  I have him backed at 33/1. I will lay when he is below 10s on Betfair.

Exotic Dancer impressive in Lexus

 

I advised a bet on Exotic Dancer to win the Gold Cup with a view to laying him off when his price contracted. That was 6 weeks ago when Exotic Dancer was 33/1.  After a comfortable win in today's Lexus Chase at Leopardstown, the JohnJo O'Neill trained horse who has now won €750,000 in his career, and the eight year old has now been cut by the bookies to prices between 12/1 and 16/1.  I'm going to weigh up my options before deciding to lay him off. Watch this space.

My only bet of the Christmas holiday on horses was Tatenen, but the Paul Nicholls horse under a strong ride from Sam Thomas, got beaten by the shortest of short heads.
